Reading and Reusing the Record

Effective September 19, 2026. These terms govern use of thewuerlrecord.com.

Purpose and limits of the material

The Wuerl Record provides general explanations of Catholic and other Christian traditions, religious vocabulary, and public communication. Descriptions of a belief or practice aim to explain that subject; they do not establish an official ruling for a person or congregation.

The site does not represent Cardinal Wuerl or a religious institution. Its articles are not pastoral care, canon-law counsel, legal advice, or an authoritative decision about sacramental eligibility. For a personal question about church practice or procedure, consult the relevant parish, religious authority, or qualified adviser.

Material and permissions

Articles and other site material are protected by the rights of their respective owners unless a different license is stated. Linking to a page and uses permitted by applicable law are welcome. Reproducing substantial text, images, or other protected material may require permission from the relevant rights holder.

For a permission request or a concern about attribution, use the Correspondence page. Identify the work and explain your request or relationship to it. A link to a religious text, news organization, or other resource does not imply that the source sponsors or endorses this site.

Corrections and messages

When raising a factual or terminology concern, include the exact passage and a relevant source. Send only material you have the right to share. Unsolicited correspondence does not create a confidential, advisory, or professional relationship or a commitment to publish a contribution.

Do not use the website or its contact channels for harassment, unlawful disclosures, malicious files, interference with service, or attempts at unauthorized access. The Reader Information and Privacy explains the handling of website and correspondence information.

Availability and revisions

Content may contain errors or need updating. The site does not guarantee complete, current information or uninterrupted access. Third-party websites have their own terms and may change independently. Nothing in these terms removes rights or liabilities that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Revised terms will appear here with an updated effective date.
